Cowdray House wedding by documentary and journalistic wedding photographer
This absolutely wonderful Cowdray House wedding in Midhurst was my first time as Cowdray House wedding photographer West Sussex. As a documentary and journalistic wedding photographer Surrey I have often had the pleasure to work in gorgeous country house venues, but Cowdray House, a historic country house wedding venue in West Sussex is something special all together… Scroll down to the bottom of this post for a listing of more country house wedding venues in Surrey & beyond.
As with most weddings, I captured Megan & Simon’s special day together with a second photographer. This time it was my good friend Eneka who accompanied me and took care of the groom preps while I started the day with Megan & her bridesmaids’s bridal preps in the Cowdray House Diamond Room. It was so nice to capture the loving interactions between the bride, her mum and the bridesmaids in my usual authentic style as a documentary and journalistic wedding photographer West Sussex. Especially the moment where the father-of-the-bride saw his daughter for the first time was one of those moments I managed to capture in a very natural and unposed way and I hope they will be able to treasure this moment for a very long time to come.

The wedding ceremony took place in the majestic Buck Hall, a stunning space with stained glass windows, a vaulted ceiling and a beautiful arched minstrel’s gallery.
Cowdray House wedding reception featuring The London Essentials
Cowdray House features a lovely outside terrace with stunning views of the West Sussex South Downs and this is where the couple were fortunate enough to have their wedding reception, thanks to a lovely, dry weather day!
This was also the first time that day we had the pleasure of listening to The London Essentials, a band of five impeccably dressed, wonderful and talented gentlemen that really got the festivities started at this amazing Country House wedding venue West Sussex!
Cowdray House bride & groom portraits
After bride & groom had a chance to have a drink, we headed out for some bridal portraits aka the portrait session of bride & groom and Cowdray’s House is the perfect setting for this, Megan & Simon rocked it!
Cowdray House wedding breakfast Buck Hall
While the wedding reception was taking place outside, the amazing team from Cowdray House had completely transformed Buck Hall – with a dining capacity of 150 – for the wedding breakfast and it looked absolutely stunning! The London Essentials got everyone singing & dancing in between courses and to top it all off, the couple had organised a superb dessert bar with a smashing wedding cake!
