LGBTQ castle wedding | Gay marriage Duurstede castle
Lesbian wedding photography by Surrey wedding photographer | Gay wedding photography
A while ago I had the honour of capturing my first same-sex lesbian wedding as wedding photographer Surrey with a gorgeous castle as a back-drop. This particular castle was situated in the Netherlands, but there are many similar venues in the Surrey and East Sussex area, for example De Vere Horsley Estate, Amberley Castle or Farnham Castle.
It was an added bonus that I had already met the lovely brides Jackelien and Bianca, when a couple of years back I had captured Bianca’s brother’s wedding (also at a castle). It was a wonderful day that started with a wedding portrait session of the gay couple in the immediate surroundings of the castle. The ceremony was held in one of the tower ruins of the castle, a gorgeous backdrop for this important moment. Much to our delight the brides were keen to have some more lesbian bridal photography done during the golden hour so we took full advantage of the wonderful light! The evening celebrations started soon after and the ladies opened the night in style with a lovely opening dance. Dear Bianca & Jackelien, we wish you all the love in the world together, it was a pleasure to capture your special day for you!
P.S. My second shooter for the day was my friend and colleague Louise Adby of ‘One Dutch Day’, thank you Lou!
