Same-sex countryside wedding in the Surrey Hills by award-winning documentary wedding photographer Surrey & Sussex

Russets Country House wedding venue was the setting for this same-sex outdoor wedding in the Surrey Hills countryside this summer and a first for me as Russets Country House Wedding Photographer. This LGBTQ-friendly wedding venue in the Surrey Hills is a true gem and has some amazing grounds that make for gorgeous backdrops for the natural & authentic wedding images I always strive to capture.

The day started at the Guildford Harbour Hotel where the girls were getting ready with help from close friends and family and wow, did they look stunning!! They had organised proper wedding transport and the two white wedding cars were waiting to bring them to the Russets Country House wedding venue as soon as they were ready.

It was an absolutely gorgeous sunny day which meant the girls could have the outdoor wedding ceremony they wanted and it was absolutely lovely! After congratulations and bubbles we took some time out for some natural and authentic couple portraits, true to my documentary style of wedding photography. I always make sure the couple has time for some family formals as well, but will do everything I can to make these look as natural as possible too.

Wedding breakfast was ready before we knew it and of course it was then time for the speeches! The girls were treated to some beautiful words and were visibly touched by the sometimes emotional speeches but these moments always turned into laughter very quickly again. The evening was officially opened when the gorgeous brides cut their cake and hit the dance floor for the opening dance. What a day!
